Hooray! (for Homework) |
|
|
During the summer of Grade 10, Pete was attending Rock Camp at the university with some of his friends. Although it certainly wasn't the greatest learning experience, one good thing did come out of it, and it was "Hooray! (for homework)". Pete came up with both the words and lyrics to this simple, funky number, while Kyle Cunjak (of the Greg Harrison Experiment- check out their version if you get the chance) helped with a few lyrics and applied the title. In January of 2002, TNB finally pulled this tune out of the vault for Insant Funkification.
Hooray! (for homework) (P. Gorman) I been walkin round in circles, I been walkin round in squares I been runnin down those record lows, and runnin up the stairs Now I can't find a reason why it came to be this way Was it something that I said or that I didn't say
I don't need to choose which road to take, I need to find a road And get back to where I once was, and get back what is owed I left sometime in the morning, and now I see the moon I think I'm goin nowhere and I hope I get there soon, cause I
Can't think straight/ my legs are feelin numb The day is finally over/ and the night has just begun I don't know where I'm goin/ but it sure beats where I'm comin from
Welllll, just the other day I finally snapped out of it You said, "I think that you're fired," I said, "No, I think I quit." Now I may not get quite what I want, I'll get what I need I'm sure And I know for one thing that I sure don't need you anymore, still I
Can't think straight/ my legs are feelin numb The day is finally over/ damn, the night has just begun I don't know where I'm goin/ but it sure beats where I'm comin from
Now I Can think straight/ no longer need to run My bad times are all over/ and the good times just begun I know where I'm goin/ and it sure beats where I'm comin from
