Sporting one of the most eerily beautiful melodies to ever come out of Griff's head, this introspective tune started out for Jesse as a barebones acoustic folkish song. In trying it out with TNB, however, Jesse realized that it only made the verses more beautiful and strengthened the power of the chorus. The source of the lyrics is debatable. Jess might tell you that they came to him after he had a few conversations with fellow MHS grads of 2002 about their insecurity with their uncertain future that lies ahead and their ponderings on just how well they will be able to keep in touch with old friends. Then again, maybe Jesse just took E, went to a rave, and thought he was a lawnchair. Play it backwards, youll find lots of clues that back up this latter theory
Lawnchair (J. Griffith)
Well I finally reached that place inside Got to take my chance and say goodbye for now Im leaving this town, but its all I know Dont know what to do when I get lost in time
The fish in the sea do their thing The birds in the sky always fly right by I have my way and you have yours But no one knows whats to become in the end
I have my way and you have yours I have my way and you have yours I have a dream thats to begin I have my way and you have yours
If this path makes you lose your home Just recall the days in the sand How can one forget all these good times spent? Then how can one be sure they all were true?
Be sure to never hide your past But be aware theres always more to come And if the world is not all bad Well be sure to see these faces down the road
I got to ramble on, and always sing my songs I got to ramble on, and always sing my songs I got to ramble on, and always sing my songs I got to ramble on
